INSPIRATION

( Andung means grandma in bahasa padang )

My Andung and her home in Jakarta has been the driving force behind my new body of work.

Her recent passing made me ever more curious of the way she adorned her house with memories. For me, she expressed love by feeding me and ushering me to the kitchen to eat under candle light. I hope these works honour how she made me feel at home.

These original prints are a nod to the stoneware plates I created called “yuk, makan“( come, let’s eat). Collect one and join us at the table.
